We graduated from Texas A&M University in 1978 ; in 1981 we established a studio, east of Austin, Texas. Since then, we have furthered our education through workshops, the daily practice of work in clay, and the wisdom of the generous clay community. In 1985 we built our first wood fired kiln. The effects that we achieved in wood firing continue to influence our glaze choices and surface treatments.

 

After 40 years in clay, we find that the things that fuel our enthusiasm for the craft today are the same things that drew us to pottery in the first place: our love of function and form, our passion for the process of making pots, and the joy we find in using hand made pottery.
